A man found an eagle’s egg and put it in a nest of a barnyard hen. The eaglet hatched with the brood of chicks and grew up all along thinking she was a barnyard chicken scratching for worms and insects.
Years passed and the eagle grew older. One day she saw a magnificent bird above in the cloudless sky. It glided in graceful majesty on powerful wings. “That’s an eagle,” said another chicken. “She belongs in the sky.”
This eagle, however, lived and died a chicken, for that’s what she thought she was.- Anthony de Mello
I love telling this story of the eagle who grew up believing she was a chicken, but my daughter hates it. She says it’s too sad. She says the poor bird simply never knew she too had the possibility of soaring.
Below is a beautiful piece that I recorded for you about designing your life, but it is written by an anonymous someone.

I am so glad you have decided to join me in this weekly process of doing the work of life design, of asking and answering the powerful questions of your life. This decision to live consciously and to take responsibility for your happiness begins with an honest self-assessment of how satisfied you are in your life currently. Have the courage to ask yourself, how am I, really? Read the rest of this entry »
Okay…..here we go…..another New Year and another opportunity to make some New Year’s resolutions. Be forewarned, I love this time. Being a life coach who specializes in helping people consciously design their lives, a brand new year is a big deal, a big opportunity.
This year I’d like to help you be more successful in designing and building the life you want to be living. Once a week for the entire year, in this blog, I will offer some of the essential questions, tools, exercises and ideas for thoughtful and heart-felt life design. Each week you will be invited to stop and take some time to think about who you really are and what you really want and the decisions you are making for your life. Feel free to join in the conversation and share your life design journey. This is your space for Considering the Possibilities…
An old friend just came to visit me for a couple of days. We had a great visit as we hadn’t seen each other in over a year. We talked about everything. When our husbands asked what we did we (only half-jokingly) said we solved all the problems in the world. We actually did talk about the problems of the world. But mostly we talked about peace on earth.
